James has been recovering from surgery at the end of June to remove a malignant (non-metastatic) tumor from his lower left jaw. He’s been a good patient through it all – and he’s now ready to head back to his “job” visiting hospice patients and folks in the nursing home.
Yesterday he attended a memorial service for a patient he had visited every Wednesday afternoon for 2 years and 2 months. She died at the age of 97 years. Everyone was pleased to have James in attendance. His name was read and he was thanked for all the visits he had made. Our patient’s daughter was so happy to have him there lying at her feet throughout the service. She had been present for every one of James’ visits to her mother.
After the service, we headed down to another section of the facility to visit with James’ current hospice patient. She was SO EXCITED to see him and is looking forward to his upcoming weekly visits.
