Yesterday I stopped by my friend Sunny’s Berkshire Hills Labradoodles kennel. She was holding one of her great open houses for folks interested in learning more about this terrific, non-shedding allergy friendly breed of dogs. And, what better way of learning about the breed then seeing these fun-loving dogs in action. Whenever I’m at Sunny’s, I spend the entire time I’m there smiling and laughing… these dogs are characters – like circus performers providing visitors with a three-ring circus to view: tumbling around together, running after tennis balls, romping around the mowed down hayfield, then returning back to home base to hang out with folks under a big shade tree.
Aside from being funny and adorable, I’m smitten with the breed mostly because they’re perfect for therapy dog work… great personalities, quick learners, and have that non-shedding coat. Even if you’re not allergic to dogs, dogs visiting in healthcare facilities are best not leaving a pile of fur behind.
Fall Therapy Dog Training Classes will be starting up in September. As soon as the schedule has been determined, I’ll be posting it on the Bright Spot Therapy Dogs website, as well as here at Say Hello Spot. I have had several of Sunny’s Doodles in my Therapy Dog Training Classes and they’ve done a super job! But, that said… ALL breeds are most definitely welcome!
