James was operated on two weeks ago to remove a malignant tumor from his lower left jaw. Since that time, he has been the model patient (in true James fashion…. he’s such an accommodating boy!). He’s followed all the vet’s instructions: soft food, no roughhousing, no bone-chewing, and no running around outside.
Yesterday we went to the vet for his post-op check… the jaw and gum tissue look very good and are healing well. The vet feels 95% certain that the tumor was completely removed. Excellent news! He can now romp for a few minutes out in the back field with Annie and Trudi, start eating regular food (he did enjoy that special Wellness Stew he was getting!), and have his favorite biscuit treats. Still no bone-chewing or roughhousing – and he’s off his therapy dog visiting schedule until the last week in July. I can tell he misses his visiting… every time I leave in the car, he thinks it’s time to get suited up in his therapy dog vest and head for a visit.

Hip Hip Hooray! I’m so happy to hear James is doing well. And what a beautiful photo of him!
