Word of our successful Bright Spot Therapy Dogs Stress-Relieving Event held at UMass during exam week has spread. We have already been contacted by Amherst College ready to book a date with our wonderful Therapy Dogs for Fall mid-terms and Finals.
Fourteen of our Therapy Dogs attended The Big Chill at UMass on May 1, 2013. Our volunteers had as great a time as did the students. We have a terrific group of folks eager to bring stress-relief to students studying for exams via petting and hugging man’s best friend.
Scientific studies have documented the fact that the simple act of petting a dog can lower blood pressure and make a person feel good and relaxed. I ran into a student yesterday while I was attending a conference at UMass. The student saw our Bright Spot display and came over, saying, I just graduated from UMass two weeks ago and saw your Therapy Dogs at The Big Chill. Those dogs were wonderful. Bringing Therapy Dogs to campus is the best thing the school has ever done!
We are happy to continue in this new role on college campuses. Colleges need to contact us well ahead (like Amherst College has already) to get placed on our event calendar. Don’t be left out of this fun and relaxing activity with friendly, well-trained Therapy Dogs!
