It was the last day of classes for students at UMass Amherst today. Students got to celebrate and relax with our Bright Spot Therapy Dogs.
Fourteen Therapy Dogs filled the Student Union Ballroom. Waves of students, about 100 at a time, drifted into the Ballroom to mingle with the canines.
Knowing there were fourteen Therapy Dogs presents, most students worked through the room to meet each one.
Bright Spot volunteers enjoyed talking with the students about their dogs, fielding questions about becoming involved with Therapy Dogs. What do you look for in a Therapy Dog? What kind of training is involved? Some students were interested in using Therapy Dogs in their future careers.
Tomorrow is a study day for most students, then exams begin. Those who are seniors will graduate next weekend. All students expressed thanks for bringing the Therapy Dogs to campus.
Monday, May 5th, our Therapy Dogs will be at Elms College in Chicopee, Massachusetts. Our Bright Spot Therapy Dogs Stress-Relief Events during mid-terms and finals are very popular on college campuses. Interested colleges are encouraged to contact us 4-6 months in advance to schedule an event. With mid-terms and finals falling at about the same time at most colleges, we are able to service a limited number of schools, and book on a first-come, first-served basis.
