Twenty Bright Spot Therapy Dog Teams headed to the University of Massachusetts Amherst this past Monday. Students were delighted to have the dogs back on campus.
Many of the students have attended every Bright Spot Therapy Dog event held at the school – two events each semester, held during mid-terms and again during finals.
They come to unwind after an exam, take a student break, or simply for the reason they miss their own dogs back home.
Tuesday’s therapy dog event took us to Bay Path University. Like UMass, Bright Spot Therapy Dogs are there on campus during exam periods.
Tuesday was a gorgeous sunny, warm day, allowing us to hold the event outside on the Campus Center patio. Somehow, relaxing on this lovely patio in the sun added an extra layer of cheer to the event.
Bay Path is a small university in Longmeadow, Massachusetts. The volunteers have gotten to know many of these students who come to see the dogs each time. We enjoy catching up with them on their studies, some who are graduating excitedly sharing their plans for the future.
These students know the dogs, calling each by name. For them, this is an event not to be missed. Next Tuesday, May 5th, Bright Spot dogs will be at Elms College for our final visit there this year.
