Today, wind chill factor made for temps below 0 degrees. The dogs would go outside, make one sweep around the perimeter of the back field, then head right back to the door asking to be let in. Clearly, outside activities were not in the cards for today. I quickly came up with an alternative plan. Baths and trims for Annie and King.
King was beginning to look like an Appaloosa left outside in the winter without a blanket. Annie, like a sheep ready for shearing. Lily, pretty much the same, but she was exempt from today’s activity due to some tough dental work she had on Thursday. While Annie and King spent the morning at our Bridgvale Farm spa, Lily slept comfortably on the couch. She’s slated for her spa day on Monday. Looks like another snow day on Monday with a huge winter storm due in Sunday night.
The dogs really enjoy spending spa time with me. King read the handwriting on the wall before we entered their room. He ran in ahead of Annie and me, and without being told, he jumped up into the tub, ready to spend a full 90 minutes with me being pampered. Even Annie was a willing participant. I’m certain the dogs know they look good when their spa treatment is complete. They smiled gleefully, a twinkle in their eyes as they frolicked around the house. They even took a second lap around the field, looking like the gorgeous English Setters they are. A pleasant way to spend a chilling winter’s day.
